Paying for Google Maps?

i just installed V2 for VisitShelby.com. After setup i google map on the site was prompting me to add a credit card. I got a 300 dollar credit for the first year. I don’t recall doing this for my other geo site on V1. Is using google maps something that I am likely going to have to pay for eventually?

Can be costly. 🙁 Looks like OSM may be the way to go once that 300 credit is up. Between this and google being a directory as well, I’m feeling like giving up 🙁
