The link to make payment for listings on my website (www.liverylist.co.uk) is linking back to the homepage. The add-listing and preview-listing pages display fine, but when you click the ‘Confirm Preview & Go to Checkout’ button it no longer directs users to the Paypal page but just to the homepage and nothing happens. There is no record of anyone who has tried to submit a listing (it will usually retain the listing, notify me via email from the WP admin and just show as a draft listing if they do not fulfill payment but this shows no record whatsoever. I recently updated all plug-ins and admin pages say plugins and themes are up to date (no thing showing as updates available). Please advise as at present cannot have any new listings added and no record of those who are trying to make contact to advise of issue… Thanks

Additional info– i assume from looking through the forum it is related to this issue (https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/missing-update-notifications/). It actually cropped up that i had this issue in November with another site run on exactly the same theme and plugins and that was resolved by the original developer of the site updating and changing the licences etc but i no longer use him for support. I have downloaded and installed this plugin as advised with the previous problem for the other site. I have then selected all plugins and chosen to ‘Update’. Some say they have updated, others say “Update package not available” (assume this means they were already up to date?). It says everything has updated. I have then disabled the force update plugin but it has not made any difference and the payment process still returns the user to the homepage….?

It has not asked for any licence keys at any point . I have no idea where i’d find my licence keys or even if they are up to date as i see there is a new system in place. When the web developer updated the other site last time he said “Had to carry out a huge theme update, license amendment and then all plugins forced to update this morning” which resolved the issue and its not recurred so guess this may be part of it too?)

    Please advise. Many thanks

Also (may as well put it all on one support request to save time and many replies!). I have now found the licence keys (i think) under my Purchase History. Are these the plugins and related licence keys to plugins i uses on my sites? In which case it says they are all inactive? Do i need to activate these plugins and link to the relevant site in order for them to be able to be updated properly and resolve the above issue with the LiveryList site. Sorry, i am unsure how the process works with the plugins and licence keys- perhaps you could explain in layman terms! Thanks!

    Hi Cheryl,

It seems you are using Payment Manager v1.3.3 which is too older than current one v1.4.4. This may causing the redirect issue.

Please follow this thread which had a same problem: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/checkout-payment-redirect-problem/
    Also this: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/checkout-payment-redirect-problem/#post-339409

If you still have a problem after update let us provide admin & FTP credentials so we can look into more.

    Thanks,
    Kiran

    Hi Kiran/ Paolo,

Thanks for getting back to me. I followed the instructions on the latter post last night but did not seem to make a difference.

Hopefully updating to the newest version will solve the problem but i cannot work out how! Is it this page (https://wpgeodirectory.com/downloads/payments-manager/) but its trying to charge me and i thought plugins were included in the membership of which i have an annual one i renewed last night? Please advise but i assume this is just downloaded and installed to the site and will replace the older version? Will it retain all the settings/ data that the current version has?

    Thanks

    Hi Cheryl,

    Thanks for providing info.

Please follow this how to fix missing update notification for older versions: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/missing-update-notifications/

This will not loose any settings or data.

Let us know if you have any query.

Also you need to update WordPress v4.3 to recent v4.7.2.

Thanks. Nearly there now (have found downloads page!). Do i need to delete the old plugin (or rename- in which case how?) to allow download of update as cannot do it because folder of same name (current outdated version). And i don’t need to retain any settings from the current one it will just automatically have the necessary settings as current site on the new plugin?

Also i’ve not updated to a new version of the site since i took over day to day running because i am worried that any updates may make changes to the site that i have issues with (in case you hadn’t noticed i’m not a professional web person!). I guess updating it just fixes any bugs etc and wont change anything on the site that would affect use as it is at present?

    Thanks

Did you followed instructions given here? https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/missing-update-notifications/#post-129196

If you follows instructions then it will provides options to update plugins same like core update. It don’t required to rename or delete plugin.

    But,
If you want to do it manually then rename old plugin and upload new, and then run tool from GD Tools -> Clear DB Versions.

New updates have bug fixes, some security fixes and some new features, it don’t loose any settings or a data. If you are worried about losing any settings or data then you have chance to take full backup before updating.

    Thanks,
    Kiran

After a lot of faffing about i found it. Yesterday it was showing the old licence page under GD > Updates with no option to enter licence keys which is why i was unable to update anything using the force update plugin. Today it shows option to enter licence keys (not sure if one of your guys updated it when they checked the site?). Once i’d entered licence keys for all of the plugins this still showed as unable to auto update newer versions. Went to Dashboard > Updates and clicked ‘Check Again’ and it brought them all up. Ran Force Update Plugin again and updated them all. Deactivated plugin and all sorted now (only change was it reverted payment method to USD instead of GBP but easy to change!).

Hopefully that will help anyone having the same problem and as computer illiterate as me!

Thanks for advice. Will now update the site in full- fingers crossed you don’t hear from me again today!
