Permalinks odd behaviour

I have the demo data in a test site and was testing with a theme to check it was working ok.

First off clicking any places links didn’t do anything. the URL changed but it was still showing the category page.

sounds like permalinks not being flushed so changed the permalinks for GD to be custom + city and place name,

that resulted in a 404 error at the top of the page but the description of the place showing correctly underneath.

then changed the main WP permalinks to /%postname% and GD to full location and they started working

now all other combinations of permalinks also work.

not sure if there is something going on there or I was just being impatient but thought I would report it anyway.
