Hi,
On V1 I had full location and this works on v2 for a listing, e.g.
/places/united-kingdom/cornwall/padstow/beaches/newtrain-bay-beach/
But on v1 I used to be able to hit the category in the location, e.g.
/places/united-kingdom/cornwall/padstow/beaches/
but on v2 this gets an 404 error, and I have found the following to work which is strange:
/places/category/beaches/united-kingdom/cornwall/padstow/
Am I missing something here or is this a bug?
Thanks, Ian

December 14, 2018 at 5:55 pm #458615Hi,
Just installed the latest release and although I can now go to the following page without a 404:
/places/united-kingdom/cornwall/padstow/beaches/
lots of pages and widgets still try and go to /places/category/beaches/..
e.g. from a location page, when I click on the category beaches it takes me to /places/category/beaches/united-kingdom/cornwall/padstow/ rather than the page listed above
Do I need to do anything special, I did save permlinks after the latest installs
GeoDirectory Version 2.0.0.41
GeoDirectory Location Manager Version 2.0.0.11Thanks,
IanDecember 14, 2018 at 5:57 pm #458617Resave them again.
Can you share a screenshot of your permalinks settings?
December 15, 2018 at 8:36 am #458683Re saved and screenshot attached.
Ian
December 15, 2018 at 10:11 am #458698You could try switching to the custom base with the same configuration and saving again.
If this is still an issue then please write back with site info so we can check the settings, and include FTP if you would like us to do additional debugging.

December 18, 2018 at 10:40 am #459123Hi Ian,
I think what you are looking for is the advanced settings under
GD, Settings, Locations, Advanced
There are two new settings for V2. What you are talking about is the default behavior, but you can change it with the settings for:
Archive urls
Archive urls on Details pageGive those a try and see if it is what you are looking for.
December 18, 2018 at 11:35 am #459134I don’t think this is the problem and its is an extension to what has just been fixed in the latest multilocations.
Let me try and explain, so I want a category after the location and this was fixed in the latest version
e.g. /places/united-kingdom/cornwall/beaches/in v1.
https://coastradar.com/location/united-kingdom/cornwall/
if you click on a category beaches you go to
https://coastradar.com/places/united-kingdom/cornwall/beaches/in v2
https://coastradar.com/beta/location/united-kingdom/cornwall/
if you click on category beaches you go to
https://coastradar.com/beta/places/categories/beaches/united-kingdom/cornwall/
where I would have expected
https://coastradar.com/beta/places/united-kingdom/cornwall/beaches/Hope this helps

CAT_BASE_SLUG/%category%/ – without any location parameter
CAT_BASE_SLUG/%category%/%country% or
CAT_BASE_SLUG/%category%/%country%/%region%/
CAT_BASE_SLUG/%category%/%country%/%region%/%city%/CAT_BASE_SLUG is optional, but should be set or unset carefully to make sure that there are no conflicts with the slugs for posts, locations, or categories. Category Base differentiates between post archives and cat archive.
December 18, 2018 at 12:16 pm #459149Sorry Alex, a little confused.
Are you saying I have to do something?
December 18, 2018 at 1:39 pm #459168Hi Ian,
The category and location were switched for v2, this makes more sense for the url structure and being bale to take the last part off the end of the url and still have the expected results.
There is a 404 rescue function that should have been picking this up and redirecting to the correct url but it was not working in this situation, i have added a fix for this which will be in the next release and this url now redirect properly: https://coastradar.com/beta/places/united-kingdom/cornwall/padstow/beaches/
Thanks,
Stiofan
