    Hi,

I’d like to edit the contents of the search page template so that it displays listings when someone arrives on the page, if nothing has been searched for yet.

Is it possible to add a shortcode to it or setup some custom shortcode that displays only if no search has taken place?

Not sure if that makes sense.

    Thanks!
    Megan

    Definitely:

Maybe add a GD Listing widget below the GD Loop Paging element.

    Hi Alex,

Is there something I can add to the shortcode so that the listings only display on the search page if the user hasn’t searched for something? Otherwise, if I add the gd_listings shortcode to the page, it shows the listings even after they’ve conducted a search – which is confusing because it’s hard for the user to tell which ones are a result of their search vs. just all listings.

    Hi!

At this time I don’t have a workaround for you on that, but I have added that to a list of items we will review for including in a future version. At this time it would require a customization.
