I know that it’s VERY EARLY but I’m curious if anyone has tried WPGeoDir with PHP7/PHPNG. RC1 came out last week and the performance improvements are supposed to be significant – 2x as fast. http://php.net/archive/2015.php#id2015-08-21-1

I’m tempted to launch a VM and start testing it unless someone tells me not to waste my time at this point in the release cycle.

    I’ll do some testing.

With RC2 scheduled to come out this week, you guys might consider trying it as well. Who knows, it could be an easy transition. Looking at the small number of errors being reported it may be shaping up rather quickly and the release is scheduled just 10 weeks from now.

With its massive performance improvements I’m guessing that a lot of hosters (including myself) will want to utilize it as quickly as possible for competitive reasons: better performing applications where every MS counts and more potential apps per-box.

I’ll let you know what I find.

How did the testing with PHP7 work out? Does it make sense to move to it?

We ended up rolling back to 5.6 due to some other plugin support (IonCube, etc) issues but otherwise things ran great with 7.
