As of the last update (running 1.5.2), we cannot add new categories. It appears as if the “Upload Icon” field is set to required and this is preventing categories from being created.

What we’ve done on our end:

1. Disabled all other plugins to make sure there are no plugin conflicts.
2. Switched to the parent theme of our child theme to rule out child theme conflicts.
3. Switched to default WP theme to rule out third-party theme conflicts.

With all other plugins disabled and a WordPress theme enabled, we are still unable to add categories.

That setting has always worked like that. You should not create a category without an icon (map marker), or your listings in that category will not have be shown on the map. Let me know if I misunderstood.

Thanks for your reply.

OK, so perhaps this is what is not working. How do we select one of the default GD icons for the new categories? When I click on “Upload Image” under Category Icon, I cannot find any of the GD default icons. This was working before.

hi,

GD doesn’t come with any default icon. We do added some icons to the dummy data, but those icons are not available to be picked up, because they are not uploaded via media uploader.

You need to upload at least 1 map icon yourself to be able to re-use it.
