I am running WordPress 4.7.3 with php 5.6.30 and after the 1.6.16/17 plugin update I get the error Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION on line 831 of helper_functions.php.

I have tested the same on a local server running php 7 and do not get the problem.

What versions of php are supported?

    Please see https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/
I’ll get one of the developers to have a look at your question too.

    Thanks.

That says PHP Version 5.2.17? We require version 5.3 minimum
