I see the option to move “User Deleted Posts” to trash rather than permanently deleted.
I also understand some of the older discussions about users rights, privacy, etc. to delete listings and why the option to prevent deleting wasn’t implemented.
Is that still the case?
Assuming it is, I think there should still be an admin setting for this, rather than just using CSS to try to hide menu options/links….in general relying on CSS just to hide things is a bit sloppy as it still has to be rendered and may even appear to be a spammy SEO tactic that might have a negative impact in the process.
Every site owner needs to have a plan/process on what and how they handle listing removals, if at all or at least if required by laws governing their specific region. That however could be via a specific request via email, which would also give the site owner/admin an opportunity to interact and better understand the reason for the request.
Building this option into the GD core simply makes it more complete and more robust.
