by default GeoDirectory doesn’t require users activation. After they fill in their data and click the signup button, they are automatically logged in and redirected to the add listing page.

Is this the process that your visitors are not finding user friendly enough to continue with the listing registration?

If you provide a link and admin credentials we can have a look directly at the problem.

it looks like the buddypress registration form is causing problems.

As paolo advised UsersWP is highly recommended in case like yours. You can also set what to do after user registration. So it gives you better control.

It didn’t really work and thats mainly because I don’t think I set it up properly despite trying.

You mean the plugin not working? Could you explain the problem you have with UsersWP ?
