Problem with categories

    Hi,

    I am quite new to this tool (bought it for a client two weeks ago) but I really like it. I am now setting up a website for the client and first added the dummy content with the categories which came with that. When making a new place, the category selection looked fine (as it still is at my events) see file1.jpg. It even worked fine with subcategories which I made to do some extra testing.

    But now I deleted the categories and added my own (see file2.jpg). Now the selection of the category does not work well anymore and I cannot select sub categories, see file3.jpg.

    What is wrong and how can I solve this?

    Deleting categories without removing the dummy content may leave posts without categories.

    Category is required, and posts without categories may cause widespread unexpected results.

    Check all your places to make sure they have categories.

    It looks like you have changed the field type for category at Place Settings – Custom Fields

    The default field type for category is “Ajax Chained” which allows you to select parents, subcategories, and even set a default category.

    Thanks, trashing the ones without a category did the trick!
