After having uploaded many csv files I am no longer abe to, I receive the following error:
75 out of 75 record(s) could not be inserted due to invalid/blank post type. Only use geodirectory’s post type.
I’m certain I’m formatting the files like previous ones the worked fine, using OpenOffice, etc. I’ve tried numerous times with no luck. Example csv file to follow.

all column headers are wrong.
Example: post+AF8-title
Should be : post-titleThx
October 17, 2014 at 2:04 am #18670Paolo – I don’t understand, the column headers came from the sample file that is downloaded from CSV Upload page, and the first column, for example, is not “post-title” but “post_title” … here is a copy and paste of the headers of the downloaded file:
post_title,post_author,post_content,post_category,post_tags,post_type,geodir_video,post_address,post_city,post_region,post_country,post_zip,post_latitude,post_longitude,geodir_timing,geodir_contact,geodir_email,geodir_website,geodir_twitter,geodir_facebook,IMAGE,IMAGE,IMAGE,IMAGE,IMAGE

October 17, 2014 at 11:04 am #18697Hello, the problem is OpenOffice, it alterates the strings.
Figured out this issue after struggling a lot, days ago.
Try to use LibreOfficeOctober 17, 2014 at 2:15 pm #18713Paolo & Simone,
I am still unable to upload a CSV file. I changed to LibreOffice as per your suggestion Simone, re-created the file and had the same results. Paolo, again, your answer confused me, you wrote “Should be : post-title” but when I look at the downloaded sample file the header is post_title, not post-title, they are different, no? or is there something I don’t understand? I have uploaded dozens of CSV files to GD using OpenOffice without a single problem. I have been using the CSV format for many years in many different environments and and never experienced such “sensitivities” that makes simple upload of text data so complicated as to require certain ‘brands’ of spreadsheet programs. Any ideas why I am suddenly having these problems? I will attach the LibreOffice file in private message.

the only reason why we suggest open office, is because Ms excel will mess up your dates, lat and long coords and sometimes even telephone number adding unwanted formatting.
The problem with this CSV is that you changed the order of fields. Which can’t be done.
The only fields that can be placed randomly (after the default fields) are custom fields.
Thanks
October 17, 2014 at 10:06 pm #18771Paolo OpenOffice does corrupt (or alterate) strings, just tried that more than once (another user had this issue too) using the sample CSV and saving it without modifying it, so I believe for 99.9% that OpenOffice does alterate something (I use Apple Pages usually, and LibreOffice once)
October 17, 2014 at 10:10 pm #18774Both Stiofan and I have always only used OpenOffice and we never experienced such problems.
Could be a new version of open office messing things up?
I currently use OpenOffice v 3.4.1
I must have opened and edited hundreds of CSV for both GT and GD support and once the data in them is in order, upload is always successful.
Thanks
