    Hi,
I am brand new to geodirectory, having just taken out a four month membership to see if I can do this.

I have WP 4.4 and GD 1.5.6 hosted on site ground.

I am trying to import information for schools, about 2500 entries but will add information for about 10 000 total. If I cannot automate it, I cannot do it.

Have exported the csv file as I see is recommended in this forum and then added the information I have from the education department. When I try to import it, it keeps telling me addresses are invalid and that title is invalid or empty.

I open and edit the file in open office using utf-8 separated by tab and semicolon and comma and use ” as text delimiter and quoted field as text. The data from the education departments are usually in excel which I save as csv and then cut paste.

Please advise what I may do to solve this.

Also a smaller problem – how do I remove the gd account profile photo that somehow uploaded automatically. The photo is of an author I am working with and she has nothing to do with this project.

    Regards,
    Lise

    Hi Lise

The CSV file should just be comma delimited.
Can you please post your URL and WP admin details and a smaller sample of your CSV file or ZIP it or upload it somewhere I can access it to have a look.
Set the reply to private, then only GD staff can see the details.

I am not sure what you mean with “gd account profile photo”, can you give a link to that too?

Sorry, csv too big to upload. Please find attached a smaller file of 10 entries.

I cannot see anything wrong in the file, if you have the multilocation addon activated, and if you already created both the categories. If you need us to have a look at your settings, post your admin details in a private message.

Tip: you can add a default image to the categories, instead of uploading for each listing.

Are you using your own email address for the GD account? That image comes from gravatar I think.
