Question about Events and Custom Post Types

Hi There,

I’ve got the core GeoDirectory installed, and I’ve also installed Advanced Search and Locations Manager. But before I buy Custom Post Types and Events Manager I have a question

i’m trying to create a directory of yoga teachers.

* I would like my main directory to be a listing of Teachers
– each teacher will have a location, contact information, 1 to 3 specialties ascribed to them, and there should be photo, Some text about them, and any events coming up that they are leading

* I would also like to be able to enter events
– each event would have a location
– each event would have a teacher – sometimes a link to an existing person from our teachers database listing (above) occasionally it will be a visiting one.
– contact / organiser information
– each would be classed with a variety of categories – like ‘day workshop’ or ‘convention’ or ‘teacher training’
– A featured classification – so that certain featured events, but not for instance, recurring weekly classes – could be set to display in the listing widget or on a separate page

What do I need to do this? do I need both events and custom post types? is this even possible. i’ve been digging through the documentation, but i’m a little befuddled and would appreciate any help or heads up you can give me
