I am running a modified version of Supereme, and have also been forced to make several adjustments to it’s parent, Directory Starter.

I have duplicated/rename Supreme as to prevent auto-updates, however how can I do the same for Directory Starter?

I would suggest you DONT make any changes to the core themes and instead use something like “Code snippets” plugin to make changes, most things can be done with hooks.
