The developers will have a look asap. Wp Super Cache and Autoptimize should work no problem.
They’ll let you know asap.
Thanks
September 12, 2017 at 5:38 pm #395367p.s. please next time open a new topic, this would be about re-ordering tabs and it’s resolved… Just FYI
September 13, 2017 at 9:35 am #395469Thank you, I appreciate that, because it is really really slow.
September 13, 2017 at 1:31 pm #395513Hi Brian,
What page is taking 14 seconds to load for you? Do you want me to install WP SUper cache and try that out?

If you can take a look, I would appreciate it.September 13, 2017 at 1:55 pm #395521This reply has been marked as private.September 13, 2017 at 4:16 pm #395550Hi Brian,
The first thing i notice is you have 50 active plugins and a few are application type plugins.
Do you need all these? The first thing to do before caching is to make the site as fast as we can without it.What hosting do you have?
I would recommend you read this satire blog post we did: https://wpgeodirectory.com/making-your-wordpress-site-slow/
Thanks,
Stiofan
September 13, 2017 at 8:28 pm #395615I appreciate your efforts to help, but not sure if it offers much.
I have 1and1 hosting
I have more plugins (66 & 73 for example) on my other sites and they load much more quickly.
I have now erased several Geo plugins, Geo-suggested and other plugins, so now, I have:
17 Geo plugins
3 Geo suggested Plugins to make the Whoops theme work as instructed by Geo.
6 cache plugins to help speed things up, but do not need all of them.
15 other plugins I need to use.I will contact 1and1 again to make sure that everything is config well there, but if there is anything on the Whoop theme that can make it quicker I would appreciate your help. I do not believe the plugins will affect the load as much as other issues I have been reading about.
Cheers, thank youSeptember 14, 2017 at 11:56 am #395696Hi Brian,
Did u read my article? I prove the fact speed has nothing to do with the amount of plugins but the “type” of plugins and you have several “application type” plugins such as:
GD, BP, Job manager, which if you are on shared hosting will slow things down a bit.I have made some changes to the active plugins, the site now loads faster for logged out users but a bit slower for logged in users, i found that disabling “Post Slider WD” reduces the time for logged in users by about 50% but i think this is all just down to lack of server resources, as there are lots of slow queries that are slowing the site down alot. Are you just on basic shared hosting?
Stiofan
September 14, 2017 at 1:57 pm #395710Cheer mate. I have also removed the slide WD because I was seeing that the photos were slowing things down. I spoke to 1and1 and they sped some things up. I see you removing Jetpack significantly speeds up the load time. I will keep an eye on things.
I appreciate your efforts.
September 27, 2017 at 1:33 pm #397669Good afternoon @stiofan
Recently, my site shows a strange string of code in the header (in the back office and front end) that seems to be generated from the WP Cache(see attached screenshot). I tried to check the setting, but I also get an error that says the WP Cache plugin is broken.
The only way to remove the error is to deactivate the plugin.
You have any thoughts on what or why?
I appreciate your effort to continue helping me with this.
BrianSeptember 27, 2017 at 2:43 pm #397684Hi Brian,
The error shown is “Error: Your cache directory () did not exist and couldn’t be created by the web server. Check permissions.”
Did u change some file permissions or is ur disk space full?
Stiofan
September 27, 2017 at 3:25 pm #397690No sir. I have not touch any permissions, nor anything, just when I saw that string of code at the top of my website, I deactivated the plugin.
Just checked 1and1 and the disk does not appear to be full.September 27, 2017 at 3:40 pm #397693I have added a new caching plugin we are currently testing compatibility with and done some testing on your site and it seems to be working well. let me know if you have any problems.
Thanks,
Stiofan
