I made Open Office the default .csv file to use in our work station so excel is not in the picture.
I uploaded “successfully” some 5000 plus listings. I forgot to update the expiration date and started to receive thousands of emails so I did the following:
1. I exported (downloaded) the recently installed listing.
2. I added in the expiration date field
3. I saved as .csv with a revision date in the name so as to identify
4. I selected “Update listing if post with post_id_already existsResults. “nothing” nothing… no error no nothing after selecting the file and clicking on “Select & Upload CSV” button.
I really need to get a handle on how to import and export data. Seriously.
November 13, 2015 at 9:46 pm #60076Hi,
please upload the file somewhere so that we can download it. It is too big to upload it here.
Also we would your website credentials to test it and see what’s wrong.
Let us know,
Thanks

If we cannot import/export large data then this is a “limitation” of the program. This “kind” of limitation is why I “switched” from the last directory plugin.
When I read “easily” import large data I as sold. I would be willing to “invest” in a way that will allow me to import data file with up to a 100,00 to 300,000 records at once without losing several weekends and hours of time hunting for “instruction” and methods.
I have nixed the excel and only use Open Office and still I cannot get this to work. Does anyone know how to make this work.
I am on a dedicated linux server with 4 quad processors and 16 gb ram.
This is not a VPM.I was successful on uploaded 4,000 records until it quit. Then, because I forgot to put an “expiration date” on the uploads I started getting thousands of expiration emails.
So, I downloaded the “imported” file and added the “expiration date” to all the listing and tried to “update” the listings. No results at all..
Is it true? Can we handle “import/export” large data easily?
Kind regards,November 16, 2015 at 3:05 pm #60343HI,
that email address doesn’t exist. Please only use the forum to send us information. Just copy the link here for us to download the file.
We have users who uploaded up to hundreds of thousands of listings without problems. However you have to compile the CSV file with great attention. A single error can make your import fail.
Let us know,
Thanks

To correct this you can do the following:
a Click on Save as
b Enable “Edit filter settings”
c Change separator from semicolon to commaThanks
November 17, 2015 at 3:32 am #60511Great. Presto! ticked comma, ticked text delimeter ” Worked just fine. Thank you for your patience and support. Oh no! I spoke too soon. The file uploaded this time (6mb) but when I clicked on import data now “nothing” happened. No error message just.. nothing.

You can’t use codes. AL, CA must be Alabama and California.
Another thing that you can try is to break down the file in smaller ones. It could be that your max upload file size is lower than 6mb?
Thanks
November 17, 2015 at 10:32 pm #60666Thank you.
fyi.. max upload 100mb. Network multi-site network is equal to or more than 100mb.
I will change the codes and try again.
Thank you.
In my manage locations I have both CA and California, thus the reason the download would not work. (This is because I uploaded CA, AZ correct?)
Is there a way to bulk/batch correct CA to California in GD multi-locations and then I can re-download and correct the expiration dates and re-upload without errors?
Or, will I have to manually go in and change them one at at time?

November 17, 2015 at 10:50 pm #60672that is a gigantic mess, you’ll probably clean it faster directly in the database.
It could take days to clean up that by merging locations…
