Hello.
How can I have Price Range to actually show a price range?
Right now it shows:
$
$$
$$$
$$$$Which tells nothing to a customer.
Two fields are needed there.
From:
To:That way you see:
Price Range
$25 – $60Telling the customer actually what the price range is, not some symbols that tells nothing.
How can I change that?
Thanks.
December 26, 2019 at 8:51 pm #523114You can use the same field, but change the option values to the units you want. It would be like 20,000-30,000 instead of $$, 30,000-40,000 instead of $$$
December 26, 2019 at 8:54 pm #523116So I have to decide the place price?
I can’t enter a value. A restaurant can be $80 – $140 and another one $15 – $60.
You can’t decide the price range from a place, it has to be entered.
Thanks.
December 26, 2019 at 9:49 pm #523121Yes, but maybe you can think of another way to do it and make a new predefined custom field that does what you want.
December 26, 2019 at 9:50 pm #523122An idea, maybe just add two fields?
Like:
Quick meal price: (text input)
Full meal price: (text input)December 26, 2019 at 9:59 pm #523123The problem is that I don’t decide that.
X place, I want to add my place to the directory.
My price range is:*You only have this options, even if it is completely wrong.
Thats the problem.
If I have a place, I have my own price range and that will be unique, I have to enter it, not choose to see what is the better fit, even if it is wrong.
In my place the price range is:
$25 – $45Exactly, no options.
Makes sense?
December 26, 2019 at 10:19 pm #523124SO, add a text field and give them instructions to input the value in that format.
Make sense?December 26, 2019 at 10:22 pm #523126But I have to define what is shown. There are no inputs so the place owner can write the values.
Or maybe I am missing something?
Thanks.
December 26, 2019 at 10:26 pm #523127There are several field types you can use. You could try a select for the low price, and a select for the high price, or two text fields, or one text field for a range.
Try it out and let us know how it goes.December 28, 2019 at 12:29 am #523231Change the options from [example only]
Select Price Range/,$,$$,$$$,$$$$to
Select Price Range/,$25-$50,$40-$80,$44-$99December 28, 2019 at 9:00 am #523266And if a place is $70 – $200 which one you choose as a place owner?
If it is $150 – $300?This is not an option to choose yes or no. Price range has unique values per place, that is the problem I need to fix.
Thanks.
December 28, 2019 at 12:27 pm #523271Then the only option will be to use a textarea or text field.
ThanksDecember 28, 2019 at 12:32 pm #523272And how can I do that?
With that the owner enters whatever they need to, exactly what makes more sense.
Thanks.
December 28, 2019 at 1:15 pm #523273Add a new textarea or text field at Places [or other CPT] > Settings > Custom fields, and allow the owner to enter what they want.
