I was wondering if there is a set of recommended rating / review icons. For example, we purchased the multi-rating plugin but would like to allow people to rate on cost. It would be nice to have a $ or something else that we could use. Just wondering if there is a recommended icon set or if the developers could point us in a good direction so we dont use icons that arent appropriate for the template

Also, regarding ratings. Is is possible to allow users reviews to be posted without admin review? I must have missed that configuration option

    Thanks

I don’t think there are any other icons for that than those shipped with the plugin.
But let’s ask the others too.

Or if using Font awesome, how would we enable multiple font awesome icons? For example a star for the overall rating, a $ (which is fa-usd) for the cost. There is an option for using font awesome in the multi-rating, I am just not sure how to take advantage of it. If I can do that then I dont need an icon pack

    Thanks

    Hi,

the option to use fontawsome only allows to use theirt star icon, not to select alternative icons.

You can do that with uploaded rating images, however you’ll have to create the icons with photoshop or illustrator.

The icon should be a transparent shape with white background around it (or another color if you changed your pages background color).

    Liek the star image: http://wpgeo.directory/wp-content/plugins/geodir_review_rating_manager/icons/stars.png

I’ve attached dollar sign icon I’ve made in 2 minutes as an exmaple.

You can see it here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/dollar-sign.png

    Thanks

Do I need to disable the use font awesome option?

I uploaded the dollar sign image attached here and tested it. It looks appropriate on the back end but on the front end still shows the stars for the cost rating

Yes you need to disable fontawesome.

If after disabling fontawesome you still see the star icon, please provide a link and admin credentials in a private reply and we will debug.

    Thanks

Actually that got it. Is there a way to change the default background of the image via CSS without me having to get into photoshop?

    https://www.infoseclist.com/places/united-states/louisiana/new-orleans/infosec-1/test-listing/#reviews

That is a list to a test review. I just want the icons to blend into the site without the white background.

We have photoshop and illustrator. But if the image portion needs to be transparent I am not sure how we would make it blend in properly to the site without using the site colors in the png.

    Just looking for advice.

    Thanks

Apologies if this is the wrong section but i can’t seem to start a new post. Is there a way to force star ratings before a reviewer can submit a review. The way it is now, a review/comment can be made without selecting any stars.

    Cheers

    Hi,

if that’s the case, something is breaking your website validation, because by default you can’t submit a review without ratings.

Please provide a link and admin credentials in a privated reply and we will have a look.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I’ve just tried to leave a review on a lsiting without rating and I got this:

Please select star rating, you can’t leave a review without stars

    Please clarify?

    Thanks
