In my GD Archive page a screenshot of the website is displayed.
I do this with the following command:
[gd_post_images title=” type=’image’ ajax_load=’true’ show_title=’true’ show_caption=’false’ types=’logo’ fallback_types=’website_screenshot’]Can I update the screenshots if the website has changed?
Thanks for your assistance OnleinesMarch 10, 2020 at 2:30 pm #534709Hi onleines,
Thanks for your post. Are you saying that the image did not update itself after the website has changed?
March 10, 2020 at 3:14 pm #534714Yes,
for example the following websites like:
http://gratis-bitcoin.io/listings/1a-ledshop/
http://gratis-bitcoin.io/listings/dresden365/
http://gratis-bitcoin.io/listings/vdm-academy/There is a “broken” website and I have to update the screenshot. Does it work automatically after a certain time or can I trigger it manually?
March 10, 2020 at 3:31 pm #534718Hello,
unfortunately GD doesn’t have a screenshot function, but it is something we are considering adding in the future.
If your site has some sort of feature to do that automatically it must be a custom feature.
The code you show above will display the ‘logo’ image, which is a custom field that is meant for images. It looks like your logo field is displaying properly, but that the image is not to your liking.
You ca update the field manually with a new image.
March 10, 2020 at 4:45 pm #534726Hi onleines,
Thanks for your reply. I’m just getting “Generating Preview” on all three pages and there are no console errors. Could you share your Website WP admin access here in private reply so that we could troubleshoot this further for you?

Thanks for your reply. Listing Image Fallback types will only support either one of these “logo,cat_default,cpt_default,listing_default”. Other than that would require customization.
March 11, 2020 at 12:31 pm #534843It appears you have a customization in place, and unfortunately we aren’t able to help you with that here in support.
If you need hands on help to revive the feature you can find that here with GD Experts:
March 13, 2020 at 2:33 pm #535127I understand that automatic screenshots cannot be taken. I will now change it manually on the 2-3 pages.
However, it would be desirable if it were possible in the future.
If there is no image, can no image be displayed as a preview image in the search and on the map? Is that the reason? See attachment.
It would be great if a screenshot could be created automatically from the homepage, which could then also be used as an image for the map and in other areas.
In our previous solution from phpMyDirectory, it was solved using https://shrinktheweb.com/. Just for Information
March 14, 2020 at 11:19 pm #535232Your site is displaying an image, but, the image is of a something you don’t want, so, yes, editing those manually would be the thing to do.
GD offers fallback images. If the image field is blank then you can show a fallback image.

The developers have started work on an addon for this and will release it as soon as they have finished it.
