    Hi,

I’ve just upgraded my website to https using Cloudflare flexible SSL.

As Cloudflare uses it’s own method of creating https pages (website still set to http for eg and pages are relayed to customers over https) this got me wondering about the settings in Google Search Console, and Google Analytics.

    Namely –

    1) Should I be changing my Google Analytics to the https version?

    2) Should I be creating a new website property in Google Search Console for the https version?

    3) If 2) is true, should I be setting the https version as my preferred version?

    Thanks for any insights!

    Hi,

the answer is yes for both analytics and search console. Not preferred, it should be your only version.

Nobody should be able to visit your website via http, if it is setup correctly.

    Thanks

Thanks for that – regarding the preferred domain, I never noticed – you can only change it from either www, or to no www.

    All set up now!
