June 9, 2015 at 9:47 pm #41957Send Enquiry & send to friend options removed from listings page – CHANGED
Has this functionality been removed?
June 9, 2015 at 10:05 pm #41959we removed the option to show them in the listings pages. It was an oversight as there was no possible way that the enquiry and send to friend forms would work on that page.
Thanks
June 9, 2015 at 11:01 pm #41969Makes sense. Thanks for the clarification. Keep up the great work!
June 12, 2015 at 6:28 pm #42400Hi!
Will it be possible with the franchise feature to add multiple locations to one listing entry?
Thx
June 12, 2015 at 6:53 pm #42405Hi,
we have looked into having single listings with multiple addresses, but it’s impossible to achieve that. Each listing must have it’s own address or the system would become unusable.
The franchise system works like this:
1) When adding a new listing you are asked if it’s a Franchise or not.
2) When selecting yes, it allows to select which fields need to be locked.
3) Locked fields are identical for all listings connected and you don’t need to enter them again.
4) After adding the 1st listing of the chain (and pay if required), in the main listing you will find a link : add franchisee
5) If you click that link you are sent to an add listing form with only the unlocked fields (address, telephone for example)
6) At the bottom of the form you have 2 buttons, save or add a new franchisee.
7) When clicking save you are sent to pay, if required, for all franchisee added.
8) If you edit locked fields in the main listing, info is changed in all franchisee too.In prices, franchisee option can be enabled/disabled for each price package.
This is the best we can do.
Thanks
June 13, 2015 at 10:24 pm #42490Hi there,
I just updated, and first of all, FANTASTIC ANALYTICS WIDGET!
One question though, I can’t seem to get the days of the week translated, I can´t find the strings in the core .po file. (mon, tue, wed….) for the analytics widget, I managed to translate everything else in the widget, but not the days. Where can I find the strings please, or where do I translate these 7 days?…ohh, the countries in the widget as well, I can’t find the strings. The countries in the core .po files are all translated, but it doesn’t translate in the widget.
June 15, 2015 at 2:43 pm #42552Hi,
the days of the week not translatable has bee reported already and was fixed last week.
For the countries not trasnlatable Stiofan just added a fix that you can see here:
https://github.com/GeoDirectory/geodirectory/commit/1e8706aa333fc72f64e83b1aaa4eb43b98a99a67
Both fixes will be available in next release and if you iwsh to test them now you can download the development version from github and overwrite your current version via FTP.
Thanks for spotting this.
June 18, 2015 at 9:34 pm #43039Hi, Paolo:
1. Regarding the upcoming franchise feature, will it be possible to link existing listings to the new franchise? Ex: We already have in our directory, a Smith Restaurant with multiple locations in Dallas, Houston, Miami, etc. Once franchise feature is released, can you create a franchise and add all of these existing Smith Restaurant into it? This option will allow us to avoid removing all existing listings and create new franchise listings all over again (and possibly losing all the existing reviews / comments / price packages associated with the existing listings). This will also save us time in the future when a business is bought by another business. All we have to do in that case is to link the two businesses together instead of creating new franchise listings and losing all other info associated with the existing listings being merged into the franchise.
2. Can we use the franchise feature as Shopping Center / Strip Mall option? For instance, we want to group all listings in the same Shopping Center / Strip Mall into the chosen center so that when the user clicks on the center link, it will display all stores / listings in the center. If not, is there any feature in WP Geodirectory we can use right now for the grouping option?
Thanks
Brian
June 19, 2015 at 3:39 pm #43092Hi,
1. I haven’t tested it completely yet, but my unedrstanding is that it will be possible to import franchisee via CSV too, so it should be possible to edit via CSV too. I’ll ask to the devs to double check and let us know.
2. Possibly, we would need to make it possible to display listings pages of listings belonging to a franchise and in the detail page show a new tab displaying connected franchisees. I’m not sure that’s in the current plan, but it makes sense and I’ll bring this up with the developers too.
Thanks
