Dear Members,
version 1.4.0 had a small bug, very difficult to trigger, that while adding a new listing, could create hundreds of duplicates.
Due to the severe problem this could cause and because it was a very easy fix, we decided to release an update today.
No addons updates have been released with it.
Thank you,
The GD Team

I never recommended no Richard Bruce to anyone?
I don’t even know who he is.
GeoDirectory doesn’t endorse any of the developers present in our forums. However we can guarantee that they are all Premium Members just like you. Please ask for references before hiring anyone and use common sense. We don’t take responsability for poor quality jobs and/or missed deadlines
This message is in the right sidebar next top your post…
EDIT:
I’ve now found your post:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/need-developer-for-finetuning-and-finishing/
Simone who is part of the team contacted you to do the job for you and you didn’t reply to him. Rich B is a members just like you, definitely not someone recommmended by us.
If you pay via paypal, you should be able to dispute the payment. If you are able to do so, reply to Simone that I’m sure for $500 will not let you down.
Thanks

maps to show on home page, multi city everywhere option, and more. while we’ve been “finding” and “fixing” as we come across them, is this expected behavior or odd. is there a change alert that would let us know in advance to make immediate corrections?March 25, 2015 at 2:17 pm #35190Hi Design,
I would ask you to avoid updating ext time we release anything and alert us so we can do it together and verify.
Updating shouldn’t create such problem unless you are also doing something else….
If updating was creating a similar problem, it would create it for every website using our plugins and you would see thousands of new topics about this every week.
Updates can’t wipe out options because the upgrade script doesn’t change any saved option. The only thing that would do something similar is if you activated a new theme.
If you update following our suggestion, nothing should change:
1) Never deactivate core or addons before updating.
2) Update core 1st alone
3) Update all addons togetherThanks
March 30, 2015 at 6:37 pm #35598Though we did Core first and alone, We might have taken the “Deactivate all GeoDirectory dependent add-ons first before deactivating GeoDirectory” the wrong way… since we know that plugins are deactivated just prior to updates, might have left add-ons deactivated during update of core, then deactivated during update of add-ons.
March 31, 2015 at 2:58 pm #35705Hi,
to update there is no need to deactivated anything.
Just update core first, than all addons together.
Thank you
April 4, 2015 at 7:58 pm #36183Hello,
Is it save to update to GD 1.4.1 from GD 1.2.7 (WP 4.0.1)?
Do I need to deactivate GD plugin when updating to new WP (from WP 4.0.1 to 4.1.1)?
Best regards,
DmitriApril 4, 2015 at 8:17 pm #36184Hi,
you don’t need to deactivate GD when updating WP.
It is safe to update to the newest version, make sure you also upload all addons and right after having updated them all, go to GeoDirectory >> GD Tools and run the Database convertion tool.
Make sure to have plugin and addons all updated before running that script or it will make a bigger mess.
Let us know how you went,
Thanks

After installing the plugin and seeting everything, Geo Directory doesn´t work. I get this message:
Deactivate all GeoDirectory dependent add-ons first before deactivating GeoDirectory.Anyone can please help me to make it work out properly?
October 26, 2015 at 9:10 pm #58073Hi,
what doesn’t work exactly?
The alert: Deactivate all GeoDirectory dependent add-ons first before deactivating GeoDirectory
is a default message that advise to deactivate any GeoDirectory Add-on, before decativating GD itself.Did you follow these instructions https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/
Let us know,
Thanks
