Remove 'Places'

Is it possible to remove ‘places’ post type?
I have added plugin for custom post types and added ‘Projects’ etc…
Can I remove ‘Places’ or will this stuff everything up as ‘Places’ is integral to GD?

Hello,

it cannot be removed, but if you delete all Place listings, and empty the trash, then Places will not show up anywhere.
