Is it possible to disable the standard fields such as time, phone, website etc?

We want to have a custom post type that are essentially user generated articles. They will be integrated with geo directory for users to create and review, but they are not location or business related, so do not require phone, website, facebook, etc. They only require categories and tags with user reviews and commenting enabled.

Following on from that, is it possible to create another taxonomy for a custom post type that will basically be another category but with a separate name.

The idea being that there will be category, theme (the additional taxonomy) and tags.

    Hi leaf,

You can disable some of these fields by switching the “Is active” field to “Off” and here is the section of the documentation for your reference https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/#custom .

You can use this option in GD > General > General > disable location for a CPT http://prntscr.com/fgiss7 . As for your last question, could you elaborate?

    Thanks!

    Hi Kor.

    Thankyou for that first point.

The user wants to have a other fields that function like categories currently do to additionally filter content. They would be managed in the back end by the admin users, and then visible for the front end users to select what the article is related to.

The website is cancer based so the first category would be like:
    Type of cancer:
    Lung
    Breast
    Stomach

Second category would be cancer stage
    First Stage
    Second Stage
    Third Stage

This would be the ideal setup as opposed to:
    Lung – first stage
    Lung – second stage

    etc

Extending upon that the user is thinking about having articles targeted at age ranges or user types which would be another set of categories
    Child
    Parent
    Medical Proffessional

    HI,

you need to use custom fields for that: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/

and the advance search add-on: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/#custom

    Thanks
