Hi all,
Title is pretty much my question. Essentially in location manager, it runs on the default premise of Country > Region > City > Neighborhood. While this is excellent for scalability, in my country (Australia), the term ‘neighborhood’ is not used often, and we say ‘Suburb’ instead. Due website localisation being an important factor to me , I’m wondering if I can rename the default category/taxonomy of ‘Neighborhood’ to ‘Suburb’ in location manager?
Another key question I have with this location manager feature is:
1. Is it possible to grow my locations database/directory organically via Google Maps API or by importing all cities and suburbs in Australia from Google Maps into my WP Backend? It’s not feasible, nor realistic, for me to enter every single suburb and city in Australia into my WP Backend.
2. I’d like to have my directory of locations categorised different than Region > City > Neighborhood.
Instead I’d like State > Region > City/Suburb. For Australian real estate websites, we categorise locations differently than the default location manager. For example:
State = Western Australia
Region = Perth Inner and Western Suburbs
Suburb = Bassendean
Is this change possible?
Kind regards,
Fraser
