Hi,
When I type in my first search field it automatically searches before I press go, how do I stop this so the user needs to press go first?
Thanks!
December 3, 2014 at 11:42 pm #23441Hello could you please post your URL? Thanks
December 4, 2014 at 4:13 am #23453Have a look here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/autocompleter-no-search-results/
The search should only be activated if you select the suggestion by clicking on it.December 4, 2014 at 4:50 pm #23515Great, that worked – though now when I search no results come up when they should & also the pages listed in the footer don’t appear on the search page?
December 4, 2014 at 5:27 pm #23516HI Ukpost,
we still need a link and wp admin credentials to have a look at your website.
It is impossible to provide solutions based on the description of the problem only.
Thank you
December 4, 2014 at 5:53 pm #23521This reply has been marked as private.December 4, 2014 at 8:29 pm #23535It seems to be working fine for me, the only problem is that you switched the fields.
You are using the label “city” on the filed which is supposed to be looking for the keyword (where autocompleter is on) and “search for” in the field that will be looking for location related info.
?
December 4, 2014 at 8:39 pm #23539I just changed that today because of the link posted above as it was loading as soon as I entered ADR studios. It doesn’t let me add the city and press go. Maybe I misunderstood how to change that?
December 4, 2014 at 9:00 pm #23543The new version (you can test the beta) will work similar to what you are expecting.
Currently there is no way to do what you are looking for.
Thx
December 4, 2014 at 9:28 pm #23546ahh ok, thanks. Last question… when I search or click on ADR studios only the london based studios come up not worldwide. What have i done wrong?
December 4, 2014 at 9:32 pm #23547Sorry, also how do I delete the choice of grid views the users have? I don’t want that drop down menu visible.
December 4, 2014 at 9:38 pm #23548Ignore my second question re hiding the grid view, I’ve just found the answer on this forum.
I still need help as not all my listings are appearing.
December 4, 2014 at 9:58 pm #23552You need to add the location switcher GeoDirectory >> Multilocation >> Show location switcher in menu
and make sure you are searching for Studios, while the location selected is Everywhere.
That’s the only condition where all listings from all locations would appear for Keyword “studios”.
Thx
December 4, 2014 at 10:03 pm #23553You need to add the location switcher: GD > multilocation > add switcher to menu.
What was happening is that you somehow had navigated to London and then searched. The switcher would have shown you were in London only.
When I searched I got more than 20 results.December 4, 2014 at 10:13 pm #23556Thanks for helping. I’ve click on Show location switcher in menu
but I still only get the studios in London showing? -
