Search conflict returns posts not places

We use Ajax Search Pro sitewide, best search plugin we found. However, it seems to conflict with the WPGD search results when both are active on the Home page.

Even if we search via WPGD on a Place CPT page, since the search returns seem to be based on the Home page, those WPGD returns do not come through, and standard posts are displayed instead.

Any way to have the WPGD search results be based on something besides the Home page, like the search page itself?

Or maybe a way to allow to work otherwise?
