search for and near bars not working

    After I upgraded to V2 the search bars no longer function. If I use the ‘search for’ bar it will always return no results. In the ‘near’ bar, if I enter a place name it takes a very long time for the drop down options to appear and when they do and I click on the appropriate option Iif it is offered, and often it is not) I receive an Error 500 message or ‘Error establishing database connection’.     Hello,

    I see the search page is blank, yes. I searched ‘cascade’.

    Have you edited the search page template?

    If restoring the default content doesn’t work please share WP Admin in a private reply so we can check the settings.

    Hi Julia,

    I tried same theme on my test site and it worked fine without any issue.

    It could be any plugin conflict. Please provide FTP credentials to look into more.

    Hello,

    Please check now. “Advanced Excerpt” plugin breaks the search page results.
    I have fixed issue by disabling one option from Settings > Excerpt > Filter: > Untick “the_content()”.

    I search fidenza and got the 500, like you said.
    I have flagged your topic for the developers to take a look at that.
