When i am searching with generic keywords on the geodirectrory search is pulling posts from the blog instead from the directory entries. It does work though when i put the exact name of a directory entry. How can i exclude it from searching on all other posts, other than the directory entries?

    this is the search query

    Hi Symeon,

You’ll have to use the “GD > Search” widget. If you would like to display only the GD listings.

    Thanks!

    Hi Kor,

i am using the “GD > Search” widget now and it does produce better results but again it includes non directory entries as well. So it does generate the relevant directory results as expected but includes regular WP posts. How can i exclude anything non directory related?

    thanks

    Hi,

there are few badly coded plugins that can break GD search queries.

One of this is Theme My Login. Another one is a Buddypress search related plugin.

Are you using any of those?

    Let us know,

    Thanks

If you deactivate it, our search shouldn’t be hijacked.

    Let us know,

    Thanks

So sorry about it, but that plugin is coded in a way that will break our search no matter what.

You could ask it’s author to fix it and make sure it doesn’t hijack ANY search query (as it should).

There is nothing we can do to fix it.

    Thanks
