Hello, the search button only works occasionally, most times nothing happens when I click search. This happens for both the standard search and for the search using the Advanced Search addon. Also, in the console I’m getting this error:
Uncaught ReferenceError: geodir_advanced_search_js_msg is not definedJune 9, 2015 at 4:09 am #41862Further to this I have set up a copy of the website on a fresh WP install and things seem to be working properly. Perhaps I should re-install WP on the main site??
June 9, 2015 at 1:44 pm #41889Hello Adele, without having a look at the website we can’t debug, It could be a possible conflict with one of your plugin, or..anything else 🙂
Please provide url and login details in a private reply and we will be happy to help you

June 10, 2015 at 12:49 pm #42023Hi Adele, try to purge the cache on cloud flare and test it back
June 10, 2015 at 9:15 pm #42129and if the problem persist, turn off rocketloader. That option is not compatible with GD. You should use GD Booster to do that.
Let us know,
Thanks
June 12, 2015 at 2:06 am #42316Thanks, turning off Rocket loader seems to have done the trick.
However I have a couple of other questions about the search – when I type in a location like Sydney in to the “Near” box, listings in Sydney will come up, but when I search for the location Melbourne, there are no results, even though there are listings in Melbourne, and with the word “Melbourne” in the listing title.
Also the compass icon has disappeared, in the console I have the error
Uncaught ReferenceError: geodir_insert_compass is not definedWhen you enter a search term and the results come up, the search term appears in a box with an X which gives the impression you can click the X to remove the search term, but nothing happens when you click it?
And finally, with the location search, results are listed from nearest to farthest, is it possible to have the featured listings appear at the top even if they are further away?
June 12, 2015 at 5:39 am #42325Have just installed an update – you can ignore my 2nd and 3rd questions about the compass icon not showing and the search terms with the X – these are Ok now.
June 12, 2015 at 3:06 pm #42367Hi,
the problem is that there is a Melbourne in Florida USA too.
Searching for Melbourne VIC or Melbourne Australia works.
You should enable the “Near Me” autocompleter to avoid this, unfortunately we can’t tell Google Maps API which city to give priority unless you limit the advance search to look into 1 country only.
Thanks
June 15, 2015 at 5:05 am #42514Ok thanks, and can you help with my other question listed above:
And finally, with the location search, results are listed from nearest to farthest, is it possible to have the featured listings appear at the top even if they are further away?
Also, when a search is done it only shows 5 listings per page – how can I change the number of listings that are on each page? I was able to do this in the general WP settings for the listing pages but it doesn’t seem to affect the search results pages.
June 15, 2015 at 3:22 pm #42565Hi,
No that’s not possible, either they are sorted by distance or by featured.
The theme you are using as extra options for that.
