Hi. The search page seems to be broken. When I enter items like “food” in “Lagos” and click search, the resulting search page isn’t behaving well. First the styling of the title bar and breadcrumbs area is completely different from the entire site.
Then Tried to remove breadcrumbs as shown in this post: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/hide-breadcrumbs-from-page/#post-53460 but didn’t work.
Then disabled breadcrumb sitewide on the enfold theme: This resulted in the complete breaking of the search page. Had to enable breadcrumbs again. Site is trustorrun.comJanuary 2, 2016 at 12:51 am #66178This reply has been marked as private.January 2, 2016 at 12:52 am #66179This reply has been marked as private.January 2, 2016 at 1:08 am #66186That staging URL redirects to your live site and I do not see any problems there?
January 2, 2016 at 1:15 am #66190Pls compare the title bar of the two pics. The first is from the details page and the second from the search page.
January 2, 2016 at 1:34 am #66196The first image is from your detail page
http://www.trustorrun.com/places/nigeria/federal-capital-territory/abuja/restaurants/drumstix-food-and-investment-abuja/The second image is from your search page:
http://www.trustorrun.com/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_place&s=food&snear=&sgeo_lat=&sgeo_lon=I don’t see the problem …
What do you expect?
January 2, 2016 at 1:40 am #66198Thanks for the reply. Pls add a location for the search page. Instead of “food”, make use of “food” in “”Lagos”. You will notice the title bar region is larger and not orderly. as in this link:
http://www.trustorrun.com/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_place&s=food&snear=lagos&sgeo_lat=6.5243793&sgeo_lon=3.379205700000057Yon can compare with the one you sent.
January 2, 2016 at 11:25 am #66227Hi,pls problem is worse than I thought. The entire page format changes. When I type in the location without using the autocomplete option, the page styling breaks, as well as the listings. Distance (in metres) shows near to the listings on the page(both places and events). Which will not occur if I had selected the autocomplete suggestions.
Pls compare:
http://www.trustorrun.com/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_place&s=food&snear=&set_location_type=2&set_location_val=1&sgeo_lat=&sgeo_lon=January 2, 2016 at 1:29 pm #66240You got some very strange code happening on that first link:
<a href='http://www.trustorrun.com/places/nigeria/federal-capital-territory/abuja/restaurants/drumstix-food-and-investment-abuja/' rel='bookmark' title='Permanent Link: Search Places For : 'food'<div class="gd-adv-search-labels' itemprop="headline" >Search Places For : 'food'<div class="gd-adv-search-labels</a>
The code in your functions.php file was incorrect, but that was not it.
I have no idea why that is happening, I’ll get Paolo to have a look.
January 2, 2016 at 7:00 pm #66329Hello,
I was using ur FTP fine but then it just stoped working…
Try adding this to your child theme functions.php (not tested)
remove_filter('geodir_listing_page_title', 'geodir_advance_search_listing_page_title', 2);
Let us know,
Stiofan
January 2, 2016 at 8:39 pm #66332Thanks for the reply.Tried the code. The title bar and breadcrumb now have a proper styling but the search results are still faulty. The listings still have distances attached {places and events} to them (which should not be.) Its like the page is geolocating automatically.
Don’t know why the FTP stopped working. You cab try it again.
ThanksJanuary 3, 2016 at 12:36 am #66343There are no distances shown to me.
Maybe your browser is remembering your earlier acceptance of your location.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/how-can-i-clear-geo-location-settings/January 3, 2016 at 1:56 pm #66368Thanks for the reply. I have tried the solution above but didn’t work.
Pls follow this link to confirm: http://www.trustorrun.com/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_place&s=food&snear=lagos&set_location_type=2&set_location_val=1&sgeo_lat=6.5243793&sgeo_lon=3.379205700000057Or is this normal despite disallowing geolocation.
January 3, 2016 at 2:13 pm #66371No, that’s not normal, they are all zero meters for me.
I’ll get Stiofan to have a closer look.January 4, 2016 at 2:50 pm #66508I managed to get connected with another FTP client.
The 0 meters distance is because u have “lagos” in the near field and all your listings have the same GPS coordinates that doing a search for “lagos” via google have, so it is working as it should but all your listings have the wrong GPS data.Stiofan
