Search results not showing sorting option dropdown

    Hi,

    I sound like a broken record but “AWESOME” plugin and support.

    My issue: I have added fields to the Sorting Options where it says “Click on any box below to make it appear in the sorting option dropdown on Place listing and search results…”

    Well, it shows in the Listings but does NOT show in the search results.

    I did this many times and double checked all settings but no change.

    I searched in the forum here and found some answers that say it MAY not work in the search results.

    Can you please definitively tell me whether it works or not?

    thanks for the kind words. 🙂

    if you are searching for something results are automatically ordered by most relevant, this is the way all big directories work like yelp and tripadvisor…

    If you sort them again, the search results are no longer relevant.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    Well, it appears I may not have explained myself well. If you go here http://cubacustomtours.com/places/?sort_by
    you see there are 1) a Sort by dropdown and 2) a View dropdown.

    However, if you do the search http://cubacustomtours.com/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_place&s=+&snear=&sgeo_lat=&sgeo_lon=

    only the View dropdown shows.

    But the instructions in the Place settings say “… orting option dropdown box on Place listing and search results page.”

    I do not see the Sort by dropdown in the search results.

    Please have a look at https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/#sorting

    The Sorting Options control how listings are ordered on your Listings (category) pages and in your search results.
    On the Search pages, only the default sort order will be used, and only if no keywords were used in the search.

    So ordering by the visitor is only available on Listings pages.
    On Search pages, visitor can use keywords if they want to narrow the search results.
