    Hi,

    I have a weird thing going on with the Search Widget.

    1. The Search Button use to go at the end of the Near box now it is underneath the dropdown box see screenshot.

    2. The Search box text say Search when I have it set to Fetch! – see screenshot. Why is this and how can it be fixed?

    3. Not really weird, but I am wonder why when I put the search widget in the side bar everything gets squished up (screenshot) but when I make my browser screen smaller (or when viewing on a mobile phone) these fields get stacked (yup another screenshot) – it looks much better stacked and I think this should really default this way.

    Thanks for you assistance,
    Stacey

    Hi Stacey,

    images are good to show the problem, but not really that useful to solve the problem. We need to see it in action.

    Would you please (always) provide a URL and possibly wp admin credentials rather than only screenshots?

    Thanks

    Hi Stacey, to edit the Search button, use the .po file inside the languages folder (in the geodirectory plugin in /wp-content/plugins) and follow http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/translate-core/ .

    About the other issues: it seems that something is out of the search div, do you customized something in your template (css etc.. ? )

    Hi @Simone,

    I do not understand why I have to use the .po file to edit the Search button text. Up until a couple of days ago the text read “Fetch!” as I wanted it to and as I set up in: GD > Design > Search > Search Form Default Text Settings. I do not know why is change as you can see if you go into the admin it still has Fetch! in the Search Button Label Box – why does this not work anymore???

    I have not done any customization lately. This issue with the misaligned Search Box and the Seach Button changing text did start last weekend when I started using the advanced search in the EAT CPT and put the Search Widget in that CPT (EAT) in the right side bar.

    Oh Crap!

    @simone I did not customize any css but I did add the following script in GD > Design > Scripts > Header : (If fount this in https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/customze-advanced-search-widget/ post# 1128 )

    <script>
    jQuery(document).ready(function(){

    if(jQuery(‘.geodir-filter-container .customize_filter’).length){

    jQuery(‘.geodir-filter-container .customize_filter’).show();

    jQuery(‘.geodir-search input.geodir_submit_search’).hide();

    jQuery(‘.geodir-search input.showFilters’).hide();

    }

    });
    </script>

    I thought it would be nice to have the custom search parameter displayed without having to click on “Customize My Search” as it would give search a more faceted looked and feel.

    Do you think this is the problem?
