We need to create a priority order for those searching for a company.

At the moment all search results are equally balanced so that if a GeoDirectory company is registered for 3 counties i.e. London, Surrey, West Sussex – then if someone searches for these counties then they all have equal weight in terms of displaying search results.

We want one of these counties to be the primary. So this will appear top of search results.

We suggest using the list further down the page where user ads their actual address.

See the field “County/Area. This needs to be the primary location.

If a user also added more areas above in “Select Counties/Areas” then these will all be secondary counties.

In addition to this we want the search results to be displayed upon the following logic:

    1) Primary Location
    2) Secondary Locations
    3) User id – so the first company added has a lower company id , hence they will be displayed first.

Any listing can only be in one location, so I don’t understand “company is registered for 3 counties i.e. London, Surrey, West Sussex”.
Do you mean you have a custom field with counties? (Custom fields will not be treated as locations.)
Then you can add that custom field in the search bar: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/

That way visitors can search for listings with a “county” custom field, and in a “real location”.

But not sure I understand completely what you are asking. The GD search is explained at https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/ – that is how it works …

    Thanks
