Hi I have build a website by the name of http://www.partycoop.com with our theme.
However when someone sends and email through the “Send Inquiry” button the formatting get removed when message is sent.

So basically all the “Return Characters” and spaces get removed when the massage is send, the the receiver gets a message that is not too friendly like the messages was all written in one single line.

Is there a way to fix this?

    Thank you.

You must use HTML to format the email if you want line breaks or space between lines.
You can turn on the advanced editor in the options so help you with writing the HTML.

You should use proper HTML in the email template. WordPress does not put in paragraphs <p> and linebreaks <br/>.
Add those in and do NOT switch back to the non-text view before saving.

    Let us know. Thanks

    Hmm,
    I am a little confused.
Are you saying that each time a client writes to a service provider through the “Send Inquiry” they need to know HTML to write their message on the message box that appears?

Or are you saying that their is setting so that I can make the message box be in HTML format so the message gets sent properly.

If I can can set the email text box to HTML by a setting where do I do I set that? Where do I set the advanced editor?

    Thanks,
    Rigo

You can see the option to enable the editor in

GD – Notifications – General – Enable editor

Then go to the last tab Other emails and edit the template

It is not possible for the sender who is filling the form to enter html in the form. Their message is sent plain text, but added inside the template under the “Other emails” tab.

    Ok,
So I went to Geodirectory->Notifications->Use advance editor? (Slow Loading) and I set it to “Yes”.
Is this all I need to do.

Once I click on “Send Inquiry” I don’t see any different in the text box, it looks exacly the same as before, but I just got to trust that this time it will not remove the spaces and return characters?

    Thanks.

Have s look at the tabs in Notifications. There should be a tab where you will find the Send Enquiry template

Now that you know where the template is, you should use proper HTML in the email template. WordPress does not put in paragraphs <p> and linebreaks <br/>.
Add those in and do NOT switch back to the non-text (visual) view before saving.
