Hey! New user here. I have built a business directory with GeoDirectory and Listimia and I think it will work out perfectly. Just one question at the moment that I hope someone can answer.

The businesses (lets just say they are restaurants for convenience) are all the same types but their categories are individual for each business. Lets say some businesses have category pizza, pasta and meat and some have only pizza etc. How do I set up SEO-friendly pages that can be directed from Google if someone for example searches for “pizza in san jose” or “pizza san jose”.

I want Google to be able to sent users to https://mysite.com/restaurants/category/pizza/sanjose/ where all my restaurants that have pizza in san jose are being listed.

How do I set that up?

You can add location specific content for each category if you like. Have a look the options when you edit a category.

And have a look at GD > Settings > Titles & Meta > Archive pages

    Thanks

Thanks for the answer by the way 🙂

Just another question. Do I need to purchase the Advanced Search Add-On to be able to get SEO-friendly addresses in the broswer when searching? How can I make a user be able to choose a category and a city from a drop-down list in the search bar and that way reach the example https://mysite.com/restaurants/category/pizza/sanjose/ ?

Yes, you will need to use the Advanced Search addon to add a category search to the search bar like here: https://wpgeo.directory/starter/places/

    Thanks
