Server-related question

    I found that my website seems to a bit slow. It takes at least 5-6 seconds to load the home page. Also, when I type something in the “near” search box, the search autocompleter takes 2-3 seconds to show the location options. I tried http://www.yellowpages.com.au, the location search autocompleter only take less than 0.5 second to show to location option. I am currently use VPS 2GB from godaddy. Will that help the speed significantly if i upgrade it to 4gb or 8gb? or any suggestion?
