Hi everyone! So I want to target the united states… trying to figure out if there is a database out there that will pull in all the states, towns etc…..

I would like it to end up being something like mydirectory.com/state/town/business-name

    Is this possible?

    Thanks in advance!

GeoDirectory permalinks structure has several templates that can show the location.

Please read more about it here:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/settings/permalinks/

You can use a structure like that with your details page, like:

    places/region/city/post-name

It is not necessary to add locations (cities, towns, states, etc) beforehand. Those are added automatically when listings are created, based on the location of the listing. The information is queried from either the OSM or Google APIs.

You don’t have to use it. If you clear out (trash) all listings and categories then add a new post type Places won’t be visible on the frontend.

Sorry not sure I follow… clear out everything? I don’t have much so not a big deal, but is that what you mean… kill all my listings and categories… make sure trash is empty….

Then where to I add a new post type places? Sorry still learning, but I will be a pro at this by end of next week!

You must use /places/ or other Custom Post Type (CTP) slug in the URL of a CPT or category.
For example /businesses/ or /listings/ etc.

For “location” pages, you also need to use a slug like /location/ or some other slug.

    Example category page:
    https://wpgeo.directory/supreme-directory/places/category/hotels/united-states/

    Example location page:
    https://wpgeo.directory/supreme-directory/location/united-states/

    Thanks
