1) I have the map on my site’s directory page. The default location for the map appears to be in the middle of the open ocean. In order to find my hometown (it’s a small town directory) I have to zoom out and move it around. I am using the OpenStreetMaps.
2) None of my listings appear on the map.
3) Weird bars appear on the pages where I use the GD shortcodes. I am using the MultiNews theme.

Change your category icons to something like 50×50 pixels instead of large images like you are using at 386×386 pixels.
I think you have a number of listings with incorrect coordinates. If you post your WP admin details in a private reply we can have closer look.
January 1, 2018 at 4:01 am #411093I can change the icon size easy enough. I didn’t realize GD would use those icons for the map at their given resolution.
I have turned on theme compatibility, or at least I think I have. I am prompted for a JSON code, though…
Just so I understand this, are the address fields and the coordinates related at all? Does the map only use the coordinates and the address is different entirely?
January 1, 2018 at 4:09 am #411094There is no need to try to import compatibility settings, just select MultiNews and save down the bottom of the page.
The address field are used to auto calculate the lat and lng if you add a listing from the front or backend. There should be no reason to add/edit them unless you are importing listings using a CSV file.January 1, 2018 at 5:09 am #411097This reply has been marked as private.January 1, 2018 at 6:11 am #411100Yes, that is the correct way. Import is only if you did export settings from another site.
January 1, 2018 at 3:31 pm #411118So what’s likely the cause of the strange bars that show up surrounding the GD shortcode elements?
Also, does the search bar have to be full-width? I seem to have some overlap on the search bar fields when using something other than full width…

I am not using any stylesheets other than those that come with the multinews theme. I haven’t modified any of them.

2. Added some CSS at GD > Design > Scripts.
