I’ve updated to the latest version of GD and it made my customisation (the vertical filters on the left of search result page) disappear again.

So is this part of gd support? I can’t be getting the developer to do more work everytime GD updates and something goes wrong.

Hi Kiran, thanks for the response. It shows full layout because I was restoring the different versions back and forth to check on my customisation. At that point, I found that as long as I was on the latest version of GD, even if I dont set the sidebar, my customisation went missing.

I have restored it to 30 Jul which is before the GD update and my customisations work fine. Please feel free to update the GD plugin to the latest version to test the difference.

    Hi Hui,

Where you put this custom code shown in attachment? In new release we have fixed issue “Jupiter theme GD page sidebars not working”. See https://github.com/AyeCode/geodirectory/commit/44b92e508dd7c50b73e5855b63775699601f3449
Now sidebar is managed from search page layout section from backend. This was a bug that we fixed in new release.

To show search form in sidebar of search do:
    – Update GeoDirectory addons
    – Create Jupiter sidebar or you existing one(widget section to show on search page)
    – Assign GD search widget to this sidebar
    – go to backend edit search page > select layout to “Left sidebar” & sidebar to “Sidebar created for search page”

Let us know how it goes.

    Thanks,
    Kiran

    Hi Kiran,

Thank you so much for your detailed explanation. I get it now. The code was inserted into the child theme sidebar which was showing before bug fix.

I have been running to and fro between developers to get this sorted out because the custom work was done so long ago. Thank you so much!
