    Hi!

Thanks for trying to help me. Asked this at https://wordpress.org/support/topic/need-to-change-fonts

I use Geodirectory plugin in Russia, and the fonts I use support kyrillic letters. Still one doesn’t. When I click on the marker icon on the map, I read something like Введенского etc. not words. That’s something wrong with the font? Where to change it?

    Hi,

the problem isn’t a Font, but the database collation.

Please provide phpmyadmin (cpanel) link and credentials and we will fix it for you.

    Thanks

    Hi Dmitry,

I see it is correct in the DB, i think it’s a problem when being converted to html for the AJAX call, i think this might be due to you running PHP < 5.4? Can you verify your PHP version? If you can pass me wp-admin and FTP details i will try and find a solution. Thanks, Stiofan

Thanks for the info Dmitry, i am travelling today and have to leave now, i will look at this first thing tomorrow morning.

(if you have PHP 5.4 or less you might want to try to upgrade?, this seems to be the problem function: http://php.net/manual/en/function.htmlentities.php)

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

My hosting supports php 5.3 only (yeah – lots of oil, vodka and bears going down the streets, but no php 5.4). Could you please identify, if it is really the only problem? I’m unable to solve it by myself, upgrading manually, but i’ll try to find smbd who can

OK i got to the bottom of this, your server was specifically sending the encoding an non utf-8 for the ajax requests, i have now specifically told it to always use utf-8 and to override server settings.

    Please check now.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan
