Finally got around to activating Social Importer.
If I want to add a new listing, the option to import a link is available.
If I want to edit an existing listing, I do not get the option to import?
Was this set up this way?
Thank you..
BTW: You guys are freaking awesome..
February 5, 2015 at 11:32 am #30065What would be the point of importing into a listing?
Signed, one of the freaks 🙂
February 5, 2015 at 2:44 pm #30087Well, IF I already have a listing and I create a new event and I want it posted onto a directory (put together by a guy using the best directory software ever) I want an easy way to almost automate the listing.
So, in the back office, when I edit my listing, I want to just paste the FB or YELP link into the site?
Maybe I am missing something?
February 5, 2015 at 4:46 pm #30118Today what you can do is import either a listing (fb or yelp) or a event (fb only) directly from the add listing form, by fetching data from a yelp of facebook URL.
You can’t really post an event inside a listing with GeoDirectory, with or without social importer.
You can link an event to a listing and in that case you would inport the FB event from the add listing and where the form asks if the event should be link to a business simply select the related listing.
I hope it’s clearer now.
Thanks for the kind words! 🙂

Another question..
I already have a FB app setup for my domain for so everything on my site gets posted to FB and twitter when its posted.
So, I am getting:
Given URL is not allowed by the Application configuration.: One or more of the given URLs is not allowed by the App’s settings. It must match the Website URL or Canvas URL, or the domain must be a subdomain of one of the App’s domains.
I tried using the original token I created for FB, got the same error?
Help…
Thanks

February 12, 2015 at 9:22 pm #30794Hi again,
that looks right to me. The only thing that comes to my mind is that https could be causing problems.
I’ve flagged this for Stiofan, we’ll let you know asap.
Thx

the problem is in facebook, not on your website. There are plenty of similar support requests in facebook forums: https://www.facebook.com/help/community/question/?id=542958419109491
Literally thousands: https://www.google.com.mx/search?q=Given+URL+is+not+allowed+by+the+Application+configuration.:+One+or+more+of+the+given+URLs+is+not+allowed+by+the+App%E2%80%99s+settings.+It+must+match+the+Webs&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=orTnVO6dOYTLsASijYCIDA
Please have a look through them and see if you find the solution or otherwise, open your own support request on Facebook’s forums.
We can’t really help fixing facebook problems.
Thx
