    I attempted to install the new social importer. It says the theme is active but the option to set the settings are not showing up on the Geodirectory dashboard.

    Are you trying to install a V2 plugin on a V1 site? That will not work, you cannot mix V1 and V2 plugins.
    You cannot use geodir_social_importer-2.0.0.1-beta if your Version 1.6.30 of the core plugin. You need to use geodir_social_importer.zip
