Hi,
I am looking for a way to get customers to pay first then complete their listing.
Rather than complete or partially complete listing then move on to payment process. I know this cannot be change.
But could I
a) set up a contact form outside of GEO Directory
b) Embedd PayPal or Stripe into the form
c) Once payment is taken the customer is redirected to ‘registration page’
d) This registration page, whould be a duplicate of the normal registration page, but with eitheri) One payment option (we normally offer 4) that includes a ‘Discount Code’ for 100%. this would generate a invoice of £0 and then renewal in 1 year for full amount.
or
ii) Completely separate registration page where the only option is a £0 invoice.
Both would then allow them to complete their listing as a £payment had been made within the GEO System even though the actual payment is outside GEO.
I am presuming the other option if I cannot generate a dynamic specific registration page, is redirect them to the standard registration page.
But within their ‘confirmation/sale email’ we would have a ‘100% discount Code’ which they would enter on point of Payment within the standard registration process.
This would mean no real development time/cost? Maybe that is the solution!! 🙂
That is why I am sending this as I want to make sure I make the right decision 🙂
July 24, 2019 at 5:38 pm #499414Hello,
you can certainly sell an item with WP Invoicing using a buy now button and then send your custom instructions for how to add a listing.
The problem is that their purchase will not be connected to the listing.
July 24, 2019 at 6:11 pm #499429Hi
Thanks for that.
This is the problem we are having we get people to sign up they start filling out their listing and the give up as the requirements are too much!!
People are lazy!
So we are trying to find ways where we can allow people to pay and then come back to complete their listing
So they would be encouraged to complete because they only get a half listing
So we are exploring different ways of encouragement!!
July 24, 2019 at 10:08 pm #499471You could use a membership plugin to restrict the add listing page for each package and make all packages free within GeoDirectory. Basically you use the membership plugin to collect payments rather than using our invoicing plugin.
Only downside will be that if a user cancel the automatic payment, GeoDirectory will not know.At the moment there’s no other option.
Thank you
July 25, 2019 at 9:17 am #499509Hi
Thanks for that
So would we put the geo registration and login page behind the membership system?
Or can we connect one to the other?
As we don’t want people to actually have to login to membership then login to gEO directory
Maybe I am being a little dim 🙂
July 25, 2019 at 2:48 pm #499582There is no such thing as logging in to the membership or GeoDirectory. Users login to WordPress through both.
It is the add listing page that should be behind the membership plugin.
Thanks
July 25, 2019 at 8:29 pm #499664Hi
I understand that but at the moment people have to register and login to complete a directory listing
Would this be the same behind a membership plugin but now they have to login to the membership to view the login page for GEO directory
So in effect login twice
July 25, 2019 at 8:31 pm #499666They would only login once. There is only one login system.
July 25, 2019 at 8:38 pm #499667Hi
So how would they enter their directory listing? Can we remove the GEO directory login and registration process?
Because customer has registered through membership plugin?
And so GEO directory would be open behind that?
July 25, 2019 at 9:31 pm #499674Listings are added on the ‘Add Listing page.
It would help if you could point out the “GEO directory login and registration process” that you are talking about. As Paolo mentioned, there isn’t one, just WordPress login and registration.
We don’t provide support for this method. To implement it you will need to choose 3rd party plugins or custom code, both of which fall outside of support.
