Paolo,
Thanks, but now it has actually regressed from where it needed to be. I appreciate you are likely frustrated with what I am trying to achieve. But you have to understand GD (as great as it is) is not as fluid for users as compared to your knowledge of every facet of the platform.
“Replace the elements in the featured area” What elements and what featured area?
“Replace popular category shortcode with GD CPT listings” I have no clue where the popular category shortcode even is or how to access it.All we need is:
1. To show the categories only on the home page (nothing else) and have them behave in the exact same fashion as if they were selected from the header “Near Me” navigation links.
2. We simply need to show a member listings for any given category in order of distance > sorted by price option selected.
3. Removing absolutely everything to do with ratings, favorites and comments as our members will never be logged in. Only listing commercial members. We were just about there and thought GD was the right platform for the job. Surely the above meets the basic criteria of any geo directory? Category/ Nearest/ sort by price.
As is, 100% stuck with nearly 100+ hours vested.
What should I do in light of above?

September 14, 2016 at 8:03 pm #266506Hi Ed,
1) The theme home page provides a search form and the popular categories. What you call categories is the Custom Post Types selector of the search form. You want to change that into links to Custom Post Type archives, because you want them to be sortable, while search results are not sortable.
That doesn’t come out of the box and it requires custom code to be applied to your website. (At least 1/2 hour of work)
As you saw we help with css or code snippets when possible and we try to point members in the right direction, but you shouldn’t expect us to customize your website directly as part of the support provided here.
As I said, if you want to modify any aspect of the theme or plugin functionalities, you should hire a freelance developer to help you out.
If you pass to any developer this information, he’ll be able to do it

2) if you removed the near field, the near me option was hidden with it, how can the system calculate distance?
3) Didn’t we do that already? Did you see this? https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/how-do-i-disable-reviews/

September 14, 2016 at 8:31 pm #266573Hi Paolo,
Correct, we simply want to show the custom post types as a drop down on the homepage where the current search fields & popular categories reside. (nothing more). As the listing pages are good once triggered from the custom post types with near set up as it is. Would simply need to add that custom drop down to the listing page also. I would happily hire a developer but that will likely be even more delay and there is already suggestion we should just return to our old theme where the home page was easy to design and edit/ see if GD works with it. Just using buttons to trigger the custom types. In short, our entire navigation of categories does indeed need to be triggered by custom types (hopefully in a drop down format).
Since the custom types work perfectly for our needs from the header navigation “near me” after all the work. It’s a total bummer they custom types can’t be added to the landing page and top of the listings page as a standard option.
September 14, 2016 at 9:54 pm #266608So, based on limitations of the Supreme theme, and formatting the home page. We had no choice but to switch back to our original theme and rebuild in an attempt to make the custom types executable from the home page. My question, is there any code edited from trying to get the Supreme theme to work as needed, that may be detrimental to our new (previous) theme?
Thanks.
Ed
September 15, 2016 at 3:09 pm #266845There shouldn’t be, however if you don’t need them, you can just delete the CSS that we added to GD > design > scripts > Custom CSS.
Maybe copy it somewhere in case some of it was indeed needed.
Thanks

September 16, 2016 at 5:04 pm #267339Hi Stiofan,
Thanks for logging in. A few problems persist, primarily with formatting on the listing page. The Map is floating vs. static. I was hoping it could be made static in the same format as the Supreme theme layout? The biggest immediate problem, once you land on the home page on a fresh browser and wait 5 seconds. The screen redirects to the attached which has users calling in with complaint. Is there a way to stop this redirect? (redirect screen attached)
Thanks,
Ed
September 16, 2016 at 5:19 pm #267353It would take a lot of work to make the map like supreme, its is something that is far beyond our support.
I don’t see any redirects on the homepage even either if logged in or out?

September 16, 2016 at 5:26 pm #267357Thanks,
I’ll look into getting the map view hardcoded or maybe switch to the advanced GD theme. Basically, just need control of the homepage which Supreme seemed to have the search fields hardcoded. Just seems GD is not playing well with this current theme.
As is, to see the redirect (logged out) If you could in Chrome
File > New Ingognito Window > Haloplate.com and wait 5 seconds. The redirect takes place, same confirmation window as if a logged in user submitted a new listing?
Thanks Stiofan

September 16, 2016 at 5:45 pm #267359Hi Stiofan,
When you helped with formatting, was it on the page level or site wide (via the editor). Per the attached, none of the GD pages are adhering to the themes layout. Most are off center, fields getting compacted. (per the attached)
September 16, 2016 at 7:28 pm #267431Hi Paolo,
I do believe there might be some code left from our efforts. Once landed on the homepage, after 5 seconds, the page redirects to listing success?

September 16, 2016 at 10:54 pm #267727Hi,
login credentials provided no longer work.
Make sure in GD >> Permalinks you don’t have the Listing Success set as location page.
That’s what it looks like, but I can’t confirm without accessing your backend.
Thanks
