The query is not sorting correctly, it HAS to be the server, the query is being tried direct on the DB which means it does not even care if WordPress is installed or not.
October 12, 2016 at 4:06 pm #282266Then I need to write a ticket, but again, I don’t understand.
I don’t understand why it’s the same on both servers – my local and the bluehost one.
But it IS returning the featured listing, right?
Is it supposed to keep the featured at the top when you change the sort from the dropdown, like a pre get posts?October 12, 2016 at 4:06 pm #282267Hi,
if there was no error it would work. I don’t understand why wouldn’t trust us, seeing that the code is working for another member, but you trust a support guy from bluehost.
We can’t fix it unless they fix it 1st. Ask them to test the query Stiofan provided and they will see it is not working as it should. If they are not helpful, I’d strongly suggest to move to a better hosting provider.
Shared server (especially the low end one like bluehost) are really not a good choice for an application plugin like GeoDirectory anyway…

Thank you
October 12, 2016 at 4:07 pm #282268If you change sorting it will not keep featured on top…
It will sort the listings as requested.
October 12, 2016 at 4:19 pm #282274What I am saying is that I think it is working the way it’s supposed to… But I want to alter it.
That’s why I am questioning.
Right now, when you add the sort options look:
http://www.seniorcomfortguide.com/wordpress/senior-living/assisted-living/
it gives you the featured on top, right?
And when you sort AZ or ZA it does it, right?
What I want, is for the featured sort to do what it’s doing, then instead of showing the listing after the featured “Gateway” as “Vista Springs” I want it to show “Abbewood” like in the AZ sort.I am not trying to challenge you. I know Blue host sucks but I am just working on the site and I will be recommending another hosting package.
October 12, 2016 at 4:52 pm #282331OK, please check now:
http://www.seniorcomfortguide.com/wordpress/senior-living/assisted-living/ (u have no featured listings in this cat)
http://www.seniorcomfortguide.com/wordpress/senior-living/ (you do here)
StiofanOctober 12, 2016 at 6:52 pm #282410That is it! What did you do? Can you tell me so I can look for it, is it in the functions file?
Now though, that “null” is appearing in the content area for places who have no description.
I feel bad even asking!
October 13, 2016 at 8:33 am #282763Its at the bottom of the functions file.
The null thing is actually the description, if u edit it u see its null, if i remove it and save it goes away, how did u add them? Maybe bulk export and change then reimport?
Stiofan
October 13, 2016 at 9:58 am #282891Yes it was an import. Will do!
Thanks!October 13, 2016 at 10:01 am #282894You are welcome 🙂
October 13, 2016 at 6:48 pm #283323Hi! Back again, how can I do the same for the custom post type tables like here:
http://www.seniorcomfortguide.com/wordpress/senior-services/adult-day-care/
and
http://www.seniorcomfortguide.com/wordpress/hospitals/hospitals/
I see that you have a $table variable in the code you added to functions… what tables should I specify?
ThanksOctober 13, 2016 at 8:50 pm #283417Update! I realized I had to set the featured sort order for the AZ to take effect, so I got it going on!
Thanks and sorry to bug you AGAIN! 🙂 -
