I have created a ‘Special Offers’ widget in the right section and have limited it to maximum of 3 posts with the intention of users being able to click on the ‘view all’ button to expand it in order to see all ‘Special Offers’. The problem is that clicking the ‘view all’ button takes you to ‘All Places’ including those without special offers. This is not ideal as out of 500 places there might only be 30 special offers and users will soon get annoyed with having to sift through pages of ‘All Places’.

Is there a way to narrow down the ‘View All’ to only show places with ‘Special Offers’ as on face value and logic this is what should be happening?

I have also tried to add ‘Special Offers’ as a sorting option on the view function of the page so worst case scenario users could change the view setting to sort by ‘Special Offers’ which would bring all ‘Special Offers’ to the front of the search places. I cannot do this though as in Supplier Settings -> Custom Fields there is no option for ‘Special Offers’ to ‘include in sorting options’ unlike other custom fields that you can include in sorting options. Why doesn’t this have the option as well? Cheers

    Hello,

that is a good idea, but the widget doesn’t have that feature at this time. To find a page with a certain CPT in a certain category, an filter further by special offers, that is only possible with search.

The widget feature is mean to give site owners an opportunity to provide an incentive of widget exposure for listing owners that create special offers by allowing site managers to give them the exposure in the widget.

It is possible to hide the ‘view all’ link with CSS.

Going further, Special offers can be exposed to advanced search. A search for the particular CPT, and filtered by special offers would then give you a URL that you could place in the sidebar with a button like ‘View all Special Offers from ____”.
