    Hi Paolo

    Now I want to update. I’ve tried auto-update – not working – checked the settings in main – has my account.

    The message is saying internal server error check your account is still valid.

    Also I want to now download geodirectories to another area of my site which is a portal and uses different urls and wordpress themes – I hope this won’t be a problem? Thanks

    Great I forgot to select private and put my password up for the world to see. Even if temporary.

    I just changed my profile password and the password listed in the auto updates – seems to have worked. I don’t understand because I was able to update one plugin before the problem occurred on the “old” password – but maybe there was an alert or password expiry at your end? Doesn’t really add up because I also got back on here with old password before updating.

    just to make clear – the first password I published is my wordpress. the profile I refer to in my second post is the geodirectories password set in here and in the auto updates of geodirectories main on the wp dashboard.

    Well whatever the reason – changing the password for geodirectories worked. Problem resolved. Thanks

    Now change wordpress password again.

    ok so now updated – I get the white screen of death. Can’t even log in to dashboard – get white screen and “invalid post type”

    Where to from here please?

    so that has just been since I updated geodirectories plugins
    What do I now need to do? My server is not down.

    I just tried to log in again here – and I can still bring up the log-in page but it displays “invalid post” instead of the dashboard. I don’t know what to do – I guess I’ll have to do something from the server – but I don’t know what is causing the problem and what steps to take (if you read my other posts you will see why)

    I don’t think your server is down, but your DNS is not too well.
    Can you post access details of your control panel and FTP in a private message, and I’ll call Stiofan or Paolo for you.

    Vivienne, can you check the URL you posted, because theglobalknowledgetree.com is not a registered domain name.

    Sorry Guust – I’m not a developer. I have other sites up with that DNS pointing to a VPS dedicated IP. No other sites have problems. The issue occurred after I updated plug-ins geodirectories.

    Do you mean you want access to my WHM?when you say control panel?
