    Not sure which links you are talking about but normally by adding 

    target="_blank"

    to your links.

    I am posting in the GD Social like widget thread. The social links open up in the same window. Please direct me to the file where I can find the appropriate place to modify the code if that is the best solution to keeping the website page open when clicking the social hyperlink (ie…facebook or twitter)

    They should open a pop-up window by default, using javascript.
    Don’t they open in a new window for you?
    Do you use a pop-up blocker?
    What browser are you using?

    Can you post your URL so we can have a look for you?

    I don’t think you are talking about the GD Social links but some links you added to your footer yourself, using a menu.

    If you go to the menus, you will find a way to make the links open in a new window.
    Click on Screen Options (top right), and check the box labelled Link Target under the Show advanced menu properties heading.
    Then select the appropriate target for your custom link.
